They live in the cozy space between body trauma and freely chosen bad decisions, basking when their characters realize they’ve gone too far to turn back. Focusing on long form fiction, Gotay is a serial novelist. While there are always projects on the back burner, Gotay has numerous projects eligible for development—

LET'S GO TO THE MAUL is a 57,000 word speculative horror novel, set in the near-present as a nostalgia dive into the lies we maintain for the appearance of 'happiness.' Two ex-best friends must survive the bowels of an abandoned mall bent on devouring them - think Horrorstor but with nightmare beings a la Annihilation

FIELD GUIDE FOR PRAIRIE NECROMANCY is a 102,000 word gothic horror novel, set in the Montana Territory over the course of several years around 1880 with a structure similar to Conjure Women, a tone in the vein of The Wind (2019), and the emotional weight of The Return, but with feral sapphics. Its main character is a non-binary fur-trapper, with more death under her nails than life.

ANHINGA is a 90,000 word Southern Gothic Horror in the vein of Crimson Peak, set in 1922 between Louisiana and North Carolina. Filled with gays, ghosts, and grisly, visceral nightmares that will have your skin crawling, Anhinga’s roots lay between the gothic—such as Carmilla—and the embellished historical—like Mexican Gothic and Bly Manor.
